A great loss in the world of fly fishing
Legendary US Fly fisher Gary LaFontaine passed away on Friday, January 4, 2002.
He was the author of several books which include titles such as "The Dry Fly" "New Angles" " Trout Flies: Proven Patterns"
and "Caddis flies". I met Gary some years ago when he visited New Zealand and he was best known in this country for his
book on the Caddis fly and he once toured NZ giving talks about fishing the Caddis.
His passing is a sad day for flyfishing and will be missed by the international fly fishing community.
