It has be discovered that an unknown salmon parasite been found in two aqua farms in Finnmark. Now the county veterinarian has hit the alarm button. Fishbooking.com now has begun to scream at the top of its voice that its now time for a plan concerning the constant spreading of salmon farms in Finnmark.
The two particular farms in question are situated in Alte and Gamvik County. The county vets in Troms and Finnmark fear that up to 40% of fish in individual farms can be infect. (Information from NRK). The new parasite has never been recorded in Norway’s waters and its origins to this date are not known.
The local authorities are working hard to both control and find the source of the outbreak. It is believed that the source is has come from sea fish that have eaten sand worms.
Fishbooking.com believes that the policies set by the government bodies must come to an end. The latest outbreak should be considered the final straw! It could be said that Northern Norway is now at risk for the sake of a FEW jobs. If the powers to be used their heads and put their energies into fishing tourism this could create hundred of jobs and develop the north into the world greatest fishery. We promise our international reader that we will follow this case to the bitter end. Fishbooking’s aim is to fight for the long-term survival of wild salmon.
