A half-hour before the opening bell Sören Nordborg wandered down to his spot on the river, just below the falls called Østnesfosses at Vuku. It was here he “set up” his rod and with the waiting spectator on hand to see him land a fish all he needed to do is land his first fish for the year. He claimed that it took no more than half an hour to land his first. It was an impressive seven kilos. To add to his pleasure a fellow fisherman landed a ten kilo beast just up stream
The lucky fisherman is featured in the photo This is just a sign of what is to come this year here in Norway everyone involved in the trade has noticed a sharp increase in the average size of fish this year. The word is that we are expecting one of our best “big” salmon runs in many years. We here at fishbooking have already had reports of fish over 20-kilo in the North and our southern rivers are not far behind
