It was the most exciting day of this fisherman life. For many years he had dreamed about catching a dream fish. More importantly his dream was catching a big halibut.

John Olav Florø Larsen from Nord-Jæren sea fishing club finally did it.His exact words were sick just sick. The world over sea fishermen dream about catching a monster halibut and John did it. He went on to say that he had no idea what it was he had hooked until it came to the boat.

The funny thing was he had equipped himself with light sea-tackle so the only way to play his fish was gentle as a lamb. This smashed his personal record of a 21 kilo cod. Added to that the 80 kilo halibut was caught on 25 kilo line.

The monster was not the only fish caught that magic day his best mate also landed a 60 kilo fish. The next question you must have is where can you catch fish like that in Norway. Well that is simple, Finnmark in the very north. Finnmark is famed for it’s sea fishing and reports like that are not that uncommon
