Sweden null Norway one!

Norwegian fisherman Jan Hammersvik was enjoying a days fishing with a fellow guest of one of the many camping grounds here in Norway. Suddenly what they thought was a mink swimming on the surface turn out to be a salmon the Swede tried in vein to catch what should have been a hard fighting salmon. Yet this fishy story took a funny twist!

Selje in Sogn og Fjordane is known for the odd good salmon but lucky for our Swedish fisherman this fish was not in any mood to bite his lure. So our hero took matters in his own hands.

Armed with just a gaff out to sea he rowed with the intention to hook the fish and go 1-0 for Norway. After a short time of blindly aiming at the fish he managed contact with the run away fish. All fish have live through the next few moment: First, the fears of how to land the fish. Second, What will go wrong and when will I lose it?

That particular day was a little out of the normal. The salmon in it’s panic jumped on board just to prove every one wrong (who said you need years of river knowledge to catch salmon). This is just the second time in 8 years the gang here at fishbooking.com has heard of salmon jumping on board boats. All we can say is hope that Skot could be so lucky!!

The fish in question was a fat 6-kilo and the fisherman put a point on the board for Norway well done.
