Until the 1st of December the River owner group in Glomma and Vorma have closed and protect the breeding grounds of the local trout population. This is an important subject to the locals.
2.5 kilometres down stream from Svanfoss (falls) is now protected so as fish can breed without disturbances from fishermen. Local government fisheries officers introduced these regulations with the blessing from local fishing clubs.
Jan Erik Horgen, local club manager has welcomed the new regulations with open arms and is ready to follow the law. He has claimed that he will patrol the beat to see if anyone is breaking the new laws. He explained that all parties involved in the protection of this river wish to see an increased number of young trout in the river.
The daily cost of a fishing cards will aid in research and long-term projects. We here at Fishbooking.com think that 40 kroner per day is a small price to pay for the future of one of Norway’s best trout rivers.
