Esox lucius
Pike can grow up to 30kg but here in norway 20kg is a monster fish. These
large fish are always female fish. Males grow up to a maximum of 3kgs.
Spawning takes plasce after the ice begins to melt. Their eggs are laid on
grass beds that are flooded over the winter. Pike are said to be a good
eating fish despite the amount of bones. Pike are found through out Europe,
parts of Russia and North America. Pike eat almost everything from fish to
large insects and even small birds.
