Here is the final salmon tally for most of the major river in Norway. It has proven to be a tough year. The lack of rain and early snowmelt has meant that many of the salmon are still waiting for good rain falls to start their run.

Landowners seek for a longer season in the North.
Fisheries manager Anton Rikstad in Nord-Trøndelag has stated that him will not recent an extension to the season despite the application for a extended season from river owners. The dry season has lead to poor results in North Trønderlag.

Gaula may break the 50-ton barrier
The season is not even three months old in Gaula and already they have reported great catches. Over 17.7 ton of fish have been reported in at the tourist centre. This is despite reports from the North of low water flow and bad reports from other river in the district Gaula is in great form this year.
